Cooper's Hawk

There was quite a panic at the Hurdman feeders when this visitor flew in. Hint: he wasn't there to eat birdseed.

I love the look on his face. Like he's staring into your soul.

"What's the matter? They're called birdfeeders, I'm a bird..."

How awesome! I've heard there was one around but haven't seen him (unless he was the one that flew over a few weeks ago). Have you noticed that the redpolls are back?

I've seen one at Hurdman, sometimes two. (Many, many more at Hilda Rd.) I'm probably not getting out there at the optimal time of day to see lots of redpolls though. Have you seen actually flocks of them at Hurdman lately? I remember in years past seeing redpolls filling the trees there...

Nevermind, I answered my own question :-) Went to Hurdman this morning and it was redpolls galore! Bohemian Waxwings too, a little further down the path.
