I caught this loon swimming surprisingly close to shore on Meech Lake. It was near Blanchet Beach, which would have been filled with swimmers later in the year, but in early May it was deserted and peaceful enough to attract a loon. As soon as it noticed me watching, it ducked under and reemerged much further out in the water.
