In the winter of 2012-13, a large number of beautiful Bohemian Waxwings irrupted into Ottawa. This was one of a flock I found feeding in a crabapple tree in north Kanata. My husband's workplace had a number of fruit trees in their yard, and between the waxwings and the Pine Grosbeaks, they were all stripped bare! This particular waxwing impressed me with how far he could twist his body to obtain his favorite food.
