A young male Lesser Scaup, photographed on the east pond at Andrew Haydon Park. Dozens, sometimes hundreds of these diving ducks gather on the river and ponds at AHP en route to their wintering grounds. This one was swimming in a small patch of open water; the rest of the pond had iced over.
